What is BeFan & how does it work?

BeFan is a forum-style social music app in which users join forums with daily question polls fitting to the forum topic. Answers to the daily questions must include songs.

BeFan gives music fans a space and design freedom to upload opinions on music, experiences from concerts, merch collections, and daily listening updates.

BeFan unites user interaction with user profile by including poll answers in the user profiles. Own answers can be liked and scored by forum members, giving a leaderboard and chances to win prizes of participating artists.

What are advantages to traditional offers?

BeFan allows fans to make more out of their love for artists.
Fans can post song opinions, upload concert visits, merch purchases, and take pride in their music fandom.
Leverage your concert visit by scanning the QR on stage and collecting a limited stamp in your profile.

Music fans can engage in music topics they enjoy, and get points on their answers. The points give a standing on the leaderboard, which can be converted into prizes by artists.

Is it free?

BeFan is free with limits on design features, concert uploads, and posts per day.
Paying will give you more design features and an unlimited use.

If you want to be monopoly owner of the forum and have sole right to answer questions, you must pay.

What are the variables to a forum?

Topic
Group owners clarify the scope of a forum with hashtags or a selection of words. Our algorithm will specify the scope off of that.

Owner
If you create a new forum, you may chose ownership to be democratic or you may be a monopoly owner.
Latter case is relevant for artists or organisations, that want to set up and steer communication with their fanbase

Question mode

Questions in the forum can be set to member-based (MM) or bot-based (BB)

Question allowed

Forums may allow different styles of questions. Some may include a picture asking "what song describes this picture"

Frequency

Frequency of questions can be decided by the group. Default is 1 question / day

Why should artists use BeFan?

Artists can create forums in which they post questions for interaction with their fanbases. Unlike instagram or snapchat, the communicatoin is set in a music context, and the communication is visible to all insiders from the fanbase.

By paying monopoly subscription fees, artists keep control of the forum giving them access to our community of music fans that enjoy questions on topics they are excited about.

How can artists profit from a home page?

- Artists can upload concert video material and keep it in their own profile

- Artists can collect feedback on shows and songs
- They can include the community ranking of fans and see their popularity chart rank

- Artists can unify their communication channels in one homepage that serves as their own integrator

- Artists customize their page with background pictures and colors as they like it "Tumblr principle"

What can artists also do?

Artists can create profiles to which all announcements and taggs made by user fans will be included under a section "tagged"

- Artist can create concert stickers, i.e. QR codes that can be scanned by fans to be included in their profiles

E.g. "Splash concert attendance" QR created - if fans scan this, the splash concert will be unlocked with fans
